A Big Thanks to the Boulevard Club

It’s important to recognize and thank the Boulevard Club and their ongoing support for Queen Victoria. They have contributed to our school and our students in many ways this year. They have helped by providing sports equipment and winter clothing. The Boulevard Club has also donated $5 000 to our Nutrition Program.

The Boulevard Club also opened up their facilities and provided swimming instructors so that all of our grade 3s were able to participate in the Swim to Survive program. The program provided our students with three one hour lessons with a swimming instructor to teach them basic water survival skills. The funds for the swimming program were raised by the children on the Boulevard Club’s swim team.
They also supported us with their time. Every week, volunteers came into our classrooms and read with our students. Week after week these volunteers took time out of their busy days to make a connection with our students and support them with their learning.

I hope this short paragraph is able to convey the big THANK-YOU that is so richly deserved.

QUEEN VICTORIA PUBLIC SCHOOL
Queen Victoria Public School started a new sport activity, Badminton.  They asked if The Boulevard Club could assist with any used racquets. Our Members donated over 10 Badminton racquets along with 5 large bags of Summer clothing, which was distributed.

Reading Programme 2017.  The Boulevard Club members volunteered their time to go to the school and assist the teachers.  They committed to weekly reading sessions throughout the school year to designated children, who needed extra assistance.  It was an enjoyable and wonderful experience for our members. The Boulevard Club Reading Volunteers will be starting the programme again for the 2017/2018 school year!
