Assistant Dockmaster Part-Time

The Boulevard Club is looking for candidates to assume the position of Assistant Dockmaster. Candidates who are personable, possess nautical knowledge and have experience in customer service are ideal for this position.

The Club is a waterfront facility located 2.5 kilometers west of Ontario Place in Toronto.  We are considered one of the finest private multi-sport Clubs in Canada with close to 4000 members. We have approximately 140 Yachting Section members and docking facilities consisting of docks ranging from 25 – 60ft+. p><p>The Club is a waterfront facility located 2.5 kilometers west of Ontario Place in Toronto.  We are considered one of the finest private multi-sport Clubs in Canada with close to 4000 members. Qualifications/Skills

  • Posses a valid P.C.O.C. , Harbour license and VHF license (required)*
  • Experience in customer service
  • Nautical knowledge is required
    *The Boulevard Club can assist qualified candidates in the attainment of these qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Performs general maintenance of the Club’s facilities, boats and docks
  • Keeps the area around the docks, dry storage and boathouse clean and orderly
  • Conducts daily inspection of the dock system to ensure that boats are adequately moored
  • Monitors the V.H.F. radio and assists Members and visitors on and off the docks
  • Ensures shore power and water are working and dock pedestals are clean
  • Helps manage harbour log and visitor boat booking system. Maintains a database for applicable fees for visiting yachts
  • Assists Members in operation of pump-out amenities
  • Assists Members in launching, haul out as well as stepping and de-stepping masts
  • Follows all on and off water safety procedures and regulations of Ports Toronto, the Coast Guard, the Boulevard Club and Yachting Section rules
  • Ensures all member, guest and camp participant incidents, problems or concerns are reported promptly to the Yachting Director
  • Reports any health and safety concerns, suggestions or hazards immediately to the Yachting Director
  • Acts in a helpful and courteous manner towards all members and guests
  • On call to assist the “Storm Safety Crew” as required
  • Completes all reasonable tasks or duties assigned by the Yachting Director

Start Date: May 17

End Date: September 6
*Exact start and end dates are negotiable.

Location: The Boulevard Club – 1491 Lakeshore Boulevard West, Toronto ON, Canada, M6K 3C2 

Hours: 15 – 20 hours per week 
 * Evening and weekend work is a must.

Remuneration: $13.00 per hour
